Pulau Air Asuk is located at about 30 minutes from Tarempa by speedboat. Air Asuk has a rustic little fisherman's kampong with most of the houses built the traditional way, i.e. over water, a so-called kelong.
Pulau Air Asuk also has a high school (Sekolah Menengah Kejurusan) and a dormitory, complete with bunk beds, that's available to the school's students, as well as to backpackers trekking through the Anambas Archipelago on a budget. Contact Cikgu Andriani for details.
